MUMBAI: ACC's cement shipment in July rose 4.1% from year ago levels to 1.78 million tonne (mt). Swiss cement maker Holcim, which holds more than a 46% stake in ACC, said production rose nearly 3 % to 1.78 mt. Ambuja Cements also saw a rise in July output to 14.39 lakh tonne against 13.95 lakh tonne in the year-ago period. Its despatches rose to 14.38 lakh tonne compared to 13.76 lakh tonne in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. The Aditya Birla group's cement shipment rose 10% from a year earlier to 2.7 mt. Its production rose 9.5% to 2.76 mt. The group's cement business includes flagship Grasim Industries and unit UltraTech Cement, with a combined production capacity of 42 mt a year.
